Check out MaxDox

MaxRumpus is a company we’ve been working with for quite some time. They have a quite cool and comprehensive solution for easily creating documents and presentations for mobile devices (they describe it as flash and pdf meeting on the mobile device). Their MaxDox solution is Java (MIDP) based, so the documents will work work on most modern phones in Europe and the APAC region. The cool thing is that they today announced a free, personal edition of MaxDox that will run both on Windows and Mac OS X (which is essential for marketing creatives). It should be available for download next week on their site.

This kind of publishing tool solves many of the current problems in mobile marketing, and the resulting publications are of surprisingly high quality. With MMS being what it is, all alternatives are welcome. It a shame though that the consumer of such content will always need to install a separate application – something that is a bit time consuming and awkward. We’ll se how the arrival of Flash Lite on mobile devices will shake up the industry (it is something I’m betting on).
