Inaugural post

Alright,

this is the first post to my blog-to-be. I’ll try to generally outline why I’ve created this blog, and what the reason behind it is. Further, I’ll try to set some guidelines to myself on what to write about. Basically, this first post is a manifesto of what this should all be about.

Why?

The reason d’etre of this blog is quite simple, actually. It’s about me remembering what I’ve been up to. Ideas and thoughts that haven’t found a place in writing (and thus fade away), will find a permanent resting place here. Hopefully, I’ll be able to look back and notice that I’ve been doing something worthwhile.

What?

I’ll cover general stuff about customers, projects and technologies I work with. Mobility is the current focus, as that is what I do for a living. Expect entries related to the following subjects:

  • (mobile) marketing
  • current work related projects
  • the mobile industry
  • mobility in general
  • java and j2me related technical stuff
  • value-added services
  • messaging (as in sms, mms, etc.)
  • related phenomena and predictions
  • interesting things and though provocing stuff I’ve seen or heard about

Given a couple of months, I guess I’ll be laughing on the naivete of this first post. I promise to try to refrain myself from deleting it, though.

regards,

/A

PS. This blog was launched the day the number of mobile subscriptions (181M) officially surpassed the number of landlines (178M) in the US and .mobi domain names were (unfortunately) accepted by ICANN.
